Bringing the Heat this New Year!


Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s 2020? January is a great time to make changes in your life, and prioritizing your health is an awesome way to start. Winter in New England can be harsh, and our health tends to suffer. Darker, colder days mean we get less vitamin D. The cold weather can cause our muscles to be tense, and we may be feeling extra muscle strain from shoveling or fun winter sports. This is a time of year when our dietary habits tend to suffer, and eating more sugar over the holidays increases inflammation in the body. This causes more harm and increased stress to our organs and tissues. With all of these less than desirable attributes of the season, it’s important to take charge of your health. Eating a more balanced diet, eating less sugar and drinking more water is a great place to start. Moving the body with proper exercise and correct form during those shoveling sessions will also help.
